Startup Grind

The Startup Grind community was formed in 2010 and was designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs. Startup Grind was built by hundreds of local “Chapter Leaders” who bring like-minded yet diverse individuals together to connect, learn, teach, help, build and belong - through in-person and virtual events.

Transition from in-person to virtual events

Bevy was actually created by the team behind Startup Grind. They built Bevy to solve their own problem, and have a resilient community platform that would help them scale. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they needed to transition from in-person to virtual events.

Virtual events and deep analytics

Startup Grind needed a deep permission system so they could empower their global network of local ambassadors to run their own events. Next they needed a deep analytics platform so the HQ team would have a global view of customer analytics and be able to quickly diagnose risks and opportunities. And lastly, it was to have one central community hub where all the Startup Grind events could live rather than behind scattered across different social networks.

“Since Bevy rallied together to create the virtual event type and support, our user groups have been able to adjust quickly to the changing times. As a result, we've been able to stay engaged with our community which is especially important during a crisis like this.”

Explosive growth

Before Coronavirus, Bevy streamlined the Startup Grind workflows and produced explosive growth. Chapter growth, membership and annual events doubled each consecutive year. Today, Startup Grind runs nearly 1000 events per month, operates 600+ chapters globally, across 125+ countries with over 2M active community members. Since COVID-19 set in, Startup Grind has been able to maintain strong engagement by using the Bevy virtual events features.
